Zimbabwe took centre stage at the Miss Asia Pacific International Zimbabwe 2025 beauty pageant held at the Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences in Harare, where culture and tourism were celebrated under the theme “Promoting Zimbabwe Heritage and Monument Sites through Cultural Exchanges.”
Agape Mandizvidza, crowned Miss Asia Pacific International Zimbabwe 2025, expressed her desire to restore Zimbabwe’s cultural pride by promoting the Great Zimbabwe Monuments located in Masvingo. A proud ambassador of Zimbabwean heritage, Mandizvidza emphasized the historical and symbolic importance of the monument as a representation of unity, power, and peace.
“The Great Zimbabwe Monument is not just a tourist attraction, but a reflection of Zimbabwe’s identity and cultural legacy,” said Mandizvidza. “It has the potential to spark international interest in Zimbabwean traditions — from music and dance to language, education, and architecture.”
Winners of Miss Asia Pacific International Zimbabwe 2025 proudly display their award dresses, symbolizing the beauty and cultural richness of Zimbabwe.
Highlighting the role of digital platforms, she added that while social media makes information easily accessible, it often fails to convey the true beauty and essence of Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage.
The event, organised by the Zimbabwe Youth and Cultural Identity Enhancements Trust in collaboration with the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe, aimed to celebrate and preserve Zimbabwe’s cultural wealth. Each of the six participating models — Mandizvidza, Carren Sakupwanya, Tavonga Chiguvi, Catherine Wayah, Nicole Magutakuona, and Nyasha Tembo — represented a cultural or heritage site from Zimbabwe.

Mandizvidza also won the Best National Costume and Best Evening Wear awards. Nyasha Tembo was crowned First Princess and received the Miss Congeniality title, while Catherine Wayah was named Second Princess and awarded Best Swimwear. These three finalists will represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Asia Pacific International finals in the Philippines, where they will serve as cultural ambassadors and receive financial support.
Nyarai Mundopa, curator at the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe, praised the pageant for advancing Zimbabwe’s cultural tourism objectives, stating that the event helped reconnect citizens with their roots while promoting Zimbabwe on the global stage.
Highlighting Zimbabwe’s diverse heritage, finalist Tavonga Chiguvi, an agricultural innovator, chose Njedza in Hwedza District as her site of interest. She aims to promote development in the region by showcasing its ancient cave paintings, wetlands, and traditional wine-making techniques using indigenous fruits.
