El-Rufai fires shot: “Tinubu is behaving like Paul Biya, Nigeria must wake up before 2027.”

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dropped a hot warning about the future of Nigeria under Tinubu.

Speaking at his Kaduna residence while receiving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, El-Rufai compared Tinubu to Cameroon’s longtime ruler, Paul Biya, who has been in power for decades.

El-Rufai accused the APC-led government under Tinubu of betraying democratic values, centralising power, and abandoning the struggle for federalism. Mystery: The Day Nigeria Nearly Became Two Different Countries

“Honestly sir, this is a disgrace. After years of claiming to fight for democracy and federalism, what we are seeing under Tinubu is the opposite. This government is centralising everything instead of empowering the states,” he said.

The outspoken former governor did not hold back, warning Nigerians that if decisive action is not taken in the 2027 elections, Tinubu could turn into Nigeria’s version of Paul Biya.

“We are facing something worse than any military regime in history. If we don’t unite and stop this by 2027, Tinubu will try to rule like Paul Biya. All the signs are already there,” El-Rufai stressed.

His remarks have since sparked heated reactions, with many Nigerians debating whether Tinubu is truly steering the country toward deeper democracy or dragging it into prolonged one-man rule.
