President Bola Tinubu has mandated the National Single Window (NSW) Steering Committee to ensure the full launch of the platform by the first quarter of 2026.
The directive was delivered at the fifth steering committee meeting held at the State House, Abuja, by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. He urged all government agencies to fine-tune their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets to meet the National Single Window Phase 1 deadline.
Gbajabiamila stated, “Since the last steering committee meeting on April 8, 2025, I expect all stakeholders to have actively advanced with the required KPIs and targets so that we go live with Phase 1 of the National Single Window in Q1 2026, as scheduled.”
Highlighting the urgency of the project, Gbajabiamila referenced the recently enacted Tax Reform Acts, noting that such reforms were critical to achieving Nigeria’s $1 trillion economy goal. He emphasized that the National Single Window is one of the president’s transformative initiatives aimed at modernizing trade and financial operations.
He further explained that the platform would streamline Nigeria’s import and export processes, increase transparency, boost trade revenues, and enhance Nigeria’s reputation in global commerce.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, praised the progress so far but called for rapid implementation. He stressed that the National Single Window is both complex and transformational, urging the committee to focus on execution rather than strategy.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, also challenged the committee to remain diligent in meeting the Q1 2026 launch date.

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering support. “We appreciate your backing for this project. As we move forward, the single window has now been formally backed by law,” he said.
Tola Fakolade, Director of the National Single Window project, reported that all Q2 2025 milestones have been achieved and that platform customization is underway. He reassured stakeholders that the committee will meet the timeline.
The National Single Window project, launched in April 2024, is designed to unify all agencies involved in trade into a centralized electronic platform for importers and exporters. It aims to reduce trade costs, minimize delays, improve transparency, and enhance efficiency at Nigerian ports.
Committee members include representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade and Investment, FIRS, and Nigeria Customs Service.
