Controversial entertainer Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, has declared that he will not respond to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) unless he is paid N2.5 million.
In a video posted online following NAPTIP’s declaration of him as wanted, Speed Darlington insisted he committed no crime and described the agency’s move as an attempt to gain social media attention.
“This video is for NAPTIP. All those wanted posters you’re posting, take them down. I’m not coming. I haven’t committed any crime — I just talked. Talking irresponsibly is not a crime,” Speed Darlington said.
He challenged NAPTIP to produce evidence or a complainant and argued that the entire situation was a ploy to use his name for clout.

> “I was born here. I know the psychological game you’re playing. If you want me to show up, it’s N2.5 million, plus flight tickets for me and my PA. That’s my rate for appearance,” he added.
Speed Darlington also dismissed the allegations as baseless, claiming he was only trying to trend and sees no reason to honour the invitation without compensation.

NAPTIP had earlier declared Speed Darlington wanted over alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking. The agency’s statement read:
> “Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking. Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately via 07030000203 & 627 or info@naptip.gov.ng.”
The declaration came after Speed Darlington failed to respond to a formal invitation sent over four weeks ago. The invitation followed a viral Instagram live video in which he allegedly confessed to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl for whom he claimed he paid ₦2,000.
NAPTIP stated that the video raises serious concerns under the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act (TIPPEA) 2015 and the Cybercrime Act of 2015.
