Eyewitnesses told our reporter that the young boy, identified only as Seyi, had been hanging out with his group of friends earlier in the day. According to residents, they were seen laughing and smoking in a corner before things took a dramatic turn.
“I was just coming back from the market when I saw the boy shouting and removing his shirt,” said Mama Esther, a food seller on the street. “At first, I thought he was joking until he started rolling on the ground and talking to himself.” Shock in Lagos! Another witness, a bike rider named Kunle, said the boy’s friends fled the scene when they noticed his strange behavior. “They just left him there. It was people around that held him down so he would not run into the main road,” he explained.
The incident caused a major scene as passersby stopped to record videos while others tried to calm the boy down. His parents were later called, and he was quickly rushed to a nearby private hospital in Mushin for urgent treatment.
Residents of Adekunle Shodipo Street expressed worry about the growing rate of drug abuse among young people in the area. Many said they have repeatedly warned youths to stay away from harmful substances but their advice often falls on deaf ears.
“This is a lesson to all our youths,” Mama Esther added. “One bad decision can destroy your life forever.”
At the time of filing this report, Seyi was still under medical care, while the police have been informed to trace the friends who allegedly influenced him into taking the drugs. If you’re reading from phoenix click on “read original” to watch video involved.
