The South-South chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, endorsing him as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. This resolution was announced following a stakeholders’ meeting held in Benin City, Edo State.
The endorsement also extended to the four incumbent APC governors in the region, affirming their candidacies for re-election. In a communiquĂ© read by Zonal Chairman Victor Gaidom, the stakeholders expressed full confidence in Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and hailed his administration’s achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, speaking during the event, emphasized the transformative impact of President Tinubu’s leadership on the South-South zone, stating that the region is no longer sidelined in national development. He praised the President for key infrastructure projects, including the Coastal Highway and the revival of the East-West Road, which he described as milestones of visionary governance.

Akpabio highlighted the revival of the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri Railway, the Gas Revolution Industrial Park in Delta State, and the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to sustainable development and regional inclusion.
The stakeholders also commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his loyalty and visible contributions to the Tinubu administration, particularly in the capital city.
Akpabio further called on South-South citizens to unite in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, noting that “the task ahead is not merely political—it is generational.” He urged grassroots mobilization and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the region is finally witnessing the dividends of democracy through deliberate and inclusive governance.
“In education, infrastructure, energy, and social investment, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is delivering real change,” Akpabio declared. “We must stand with him and ensure that his vision for a greater Nigeria continues beyond 2027.”
The meeting ended with renewed calls for unity and strategic engagement across the South-South, as APC leaders vowed to consolidate on the gains made under Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
