The Kaduna State Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Darius Kurah, has firmly stated that El-Rufai remains a bonafide member of the SDP, despite reports of his expulsion by the party’s National Working Committee.
Kurah criticized the decision, calling it null and void due to the lack of due process. In a statement to Daily Sun, he emphasized that the Kaduna chapter of the SDP was not informed or involved in the decision to expel former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
He explained that any disciplinary action should begin at the ward level, particularly from the ward chairman, which in El-Rufai’s case, did not happen. “El-Rufai remains a valid member of our party. The SDP welcomes members at all times and no due process was followed in this case,” Kurah added.

Describing the expulsion letter as baseless and mere social media propaganda, the Kaduna publicity secretary reiterated that his membership in the Social Democratic Party remains intact.
